Our Story

Why We Stayed Small On Purpose

Marco started Kingfisher in 2005 with a small crew, a handful of builds a year, and a rule he has never changed: the person who designs your pool is accountable for it until you swim.

Twenty years later the company runs out of the same Fruitville Rd address and still builds a limited number of pools each year. That is deliberate. A boutique builder can put its own crews on every phase, give every project one manager from the first drawing to the last inspection, and have the owner walk every jobsite. The big-volume model cannot.

We design and build custom pools, spas, and outdoor living across Sarasota and Manatee counties, and we renovate the pools other people built. Design, permitting, excavation, steel, gunite, tile, deck, equipment, finish: all in-house.

Why a boutique builder instead of a high-volume one?

Volume builders run many projects at once with subcontracted crews and rotating supervisors. We build a limited number of pools each year with our own crews and one project manager per build, so the person who designed your pool is accountable for it until you swim.

Who owns the company?

Marco founded Kingfisher in 2005 and still owns and runs it from Fruitville Rd in Sarasota. He walks every jobsite and is reachable by phone.

Do you use subcontractors?

No. Excavation, steel, plumbing, gunite, tile, deck, and equipment are done by Kingfisher employees. The only outside trades are the licensed specialty inspections the county requires.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Florida license CPC 1459221, fully insured, and every project is permitted and inspected.

How do you keep a project accountable from design to completion?

One 3D design becomes the build drawings and the fixed price. One project manager runs every phase, each phase is inspected before the next begins, and you get photo updates along the way. If something is off, one person owns fixing it.
